How to browse the public school directory
The KiddyCash public school directory is a searchable list of schools that have registered on the platform. Any KiddyCash user — parent, guardian, or family member — can browse this directory freely, without needing to be enrolled or linked to a school first. It is the starting point for discovering which schools near you are already using KiddyCash to manage fees, allowances, and student wallets.
Before you begin: You need a KiddyCash account to access the directory. You do not need to have added a child or completed full KYC verification to browse.
What is the public school directory?
When a school registers on KiddyCash and sets its profile to public, it appears in the school directory. Each listing shows the school’s name, location, and basic details. You can use this directory to confirm a school is on the platform before submitting an enrolment request — useful if you are relocating within Nairobi, comparing schools in your county, or simply checking whether your child’s current school is already active.
How to open the school directory
-
Go to the school directory. Visit https://kiddy.cash/public/school directly in your browser, or log in to the KiddyCash app and navigate to Discover → Schools from the main menu.
-
Browse or search. The directory loads a list of registered public schools. Use the search bar at the top to filter by school name or location. You can type a town name, a school name, or part of either.
-
Read a school listing. Each card in the directory shows:
Field What it means School name The official registered name of the school Location Town or area (e.g., Westlands, Kisumu, Eldoret) Type Primary, secondary, or other Status Active or pending -
Open a school’s public profile. Click or tap any listing to view the full school profile. This page shows more detail, including contact information and whether the school accepts enrolment requests through KiddyCash. From this profile, you can start the enrolment process.
-
Not finding a school? If a school does not appear, it may not yet be registered on KiddyCash, or its profile may be set to private. You can share the platform with the school administration directly.
Why browse before enrolling?
Browsing first helps you confirm the school is active on KiddyCash before your child’s fees or wallet top-ups are linked to it. In contexts where payments are made via M-Pesa and every KES counts, it is worth verifying details before initiating a request. Starting a conversation with your child about why you are reviewing school options is also a good habit — the blog post Why money conversations matter more than the amounts involved explains why the process matters as much as the numbers.
