How to open a public business profile
A business profile on KiddyCash is a public page that any user can view — no account required. It shows a business’s details, the products or services they offer to kids and families, and gives you the option to follow them for updates. Think of it like a shop window you can browse before deciding to engage.
This is useful when you spot a business in the public business directory — for example, a tuition centre in Nairobi or a school supplies shop that accepts KES payments — and want to learn more before following or sharing it with your family.
What you’ll find on a business profile
| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Business name & logo | The registered name and branding |
| Category | Type of business (e.g. education, food, clothing) |
| Location | City or region, where provided |
| About | A short description of what the business offers |
| Products / Services | Items or services available, with prices in KES |
| Campaigns | Any active promotions or savings challenges |
| Follow button | Subscribe to updates from this business |
| Transaction codes | Codes your child can use to pay at checkout |
How to open a business profile
-
Open the KiddyCash app and make sure you are on the home screen. You do not need to be logged in to view public profiles, but logging in lets you follow businesses and share them with your kids.
-
Navigate to Discover. Tap the Discover icon in the bottom navigation bar. This section is where KiddyCash surfaces businesses, schools, and other community content.
-
Find a business. You can scroll the featured listings or use the search bar to type a business name, category, or location. If you are looking for schools instead, the public school directory is a separate section in the same Discover tab.
-
Tap the business card. Each card shows the business name, category, and location. Tapping it opens the full public profile.
-
Review the profile. Scroll through the sections listed in the table above. Pay attention to Products / Services — this is where you can see what your child could spend money on and at what price.
-
Follow the business (optional). Tap the Follow button at the top of the profile to receive updates when the business adds new products or launches a campaign. You can unfollow at any time.
-
Share the profile. Use the share icon to send the profile link directly to a family member or copy the public URL. Every business has a permanent link in the format: https://kiddy.cash/public/business/:business_id Replace
:business_idwith the actual ID shown in the URL when you open the profile.
Why this matters for kids
Browsing real business profiles together is a practical way to start money conversations. Seeing actual prices in KES — whether it is a snack shop or an art class — gives children a concrete reference point. If you are not sure how to approach those conversations, this guide on why money conversations matter more than the amounts involved is a good starting point, and how to start talking about money with your kids at any age offers practical scripts for different age groups.
