How to check investment history from the kid dashboard
Your investment history is a record of every change made to a specific investment — including deposits, withdrawals, and status updates. Reviewing this record helps you understand exactly what happened to your money and when.
This guide walks you through finding that history on your KiddyCash kid dashboard.
What is investment history?
When a parent or guardian creates an investment for you, KiddyCash starts tracking every action taken on that investment. Each entry in the history shows:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Date | When the action happened |
| Type | The kind of change — deposit, withdrawal, edit, or status update |
| Amount | How much money was involved (in KES or your local currency) |
| Description | A short note about what changed |
| Balance | Your investment total after that action |
Think of it like a bank statement, but just for one savings goal.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- A KiddyCash account set up for you (not a parent account)
- At least one investment already added — if you do not have one yet, ask your parent or guardian to follow the steps in how to create a child investment
- Access to the KiddyCash app or a browser logged in as you
Steps to view your investment history
-
Open your dashboard. Log in to your KiddyCash account and go to your kid dashboard. You can go directly to your investments at kiddy.cash/kiddy/investment.
-
Find your investments list. You will see a list of your active investments. Each card shows the investment name, current balance, and goal amount.
-
Select an investment. Tap or click on the investment you want to review. This opens the investment detail page. If you need a reminder of what the detail page looks like, see how to view a child investment.
-
Scroll to the History section. On the detail page, scroll down until you see the section labelled History or Activity. This is your investment record.
-
Read the entries. Each row is one event. The most recent change appears at the top. Use the table columns described above to understand each entry.
-
Filter if needed. If there are many entries, use the date filter or type filter to narrow down what you are looking at.
What to look for
- A deposit entry means money was added — for example, your weekly allowance contribution or a top-up from a parent via M-Pesa.
- A withdrawal entry means money was taken out of the investment.
- An edit entry means a detail like the goal amount or investment name was changed.
- A status update means the investment was paused, reactivated, or closed.
If you see an entry you do not recognise, ask your parent or guardian to explain it. They manage the investment on their side.
Why this matters
Understanding where your money goes is one of the most important money habits you can build early. KiddyCash is designed to make that learning real and practical.
