How a child views their payment cards
Your KiddyCash account can have one or more payment cards linked to it. A payment card is a digital or physical card you use to spend money from your KiddyCash wallet — for example, to buy something at a shop in Nairobi, pay for a school canteen meal, or make an online purchase in KES.
This article explains how to open your card list so you can see every card that is active on your account.
Who is this for? This guide is written for a child who has their own KiddyCash account or a kiddy business account and wants to check their cards independently.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- Logged in to your KiddyCash account on the app or web portal.
- At least one card already issued to your account. If no card has been issued yet, ask a parent or guardian to follow the steps in How to issue a payment card for a child.
Step-by-step: open your card list
-
Open KiddyCash. Launch the app on your phone or visit the web portal in your browser.
-
Go to your Payment Cards page. Tap or click the link below to go directly to your cards: https://kiddy.cash/kiddy/payment-card You can also navigate there from the main menu by selecting Payment Cards.
-
View your card list. The page shows all cards linked to your account. Each card appears as a card tile with key details (see the table below).
-
Check the card status. Look at the status label on each tile to confirm whether a card is active and ready to use.
-
Select a card for more detail. Tap or click any card tile to open the full card view. To understand every field shown on that screen, read How to view a child payment card.
What you see on the card list
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Card name | The label given to the card when it was created (e.g., “School Card”). |
| Card type | Whether the card is virtual (digital only) or physical (a real card you can tap or swipe). |
| Status | Active means the card is ready to use. Other statuses include Frozen or Pending. |
| Linked wallet | The KiddyCash wallet this card draws money from when you spend. |
| Last four digits | The last four numbers of the card, used to identify it quickly. |
What if I do not see any cards?
If your card list is empty, it usually means a card has not been set up yet. A parent, guardian, or account admin needs to issue one for you. They can follow the guide at How to issue a payment card for a child.
If you recently joined KiddyCash, your account might still be going through setup. You can read about what to expect during that process in the posts What’s new in onboarding in KiddyCash and A closer look at onboarding in KiddyCash.
