How to view all kid-run businesses
The kid business list is a single screen inside KiddyCash where you can see every business that has been set up by kids on the platform. Whether you are a young entrepreneur in Nairobi running a snack stall or saving up KES from a small errand service, this list shows you the full picture of what kids are building — including your own business if you have one.
What is a kid-run business?
A kid-run business on KiddyCash is a mini business profile created by a child. It can receive payments, track earnings, and help you practise real money skills. If you have not created one yet, read How to create a kid-run business to get started.
Before you begin
Make sure you have:
- A KiddyCash account (child account)
- Logged in to the KiddyCash app or web portal
- An active internet connection (mobile data or Wi-Fi)
How to open the kid business list
Follow these steps exactly:
- Log in to your KiddyCash account using your username and password.
- Tap the menu — this is usually the three lines (☰) or a navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap “Businesses” or “Kiddy Businesses” from the menu. This takes you to the businesses section.
- You are now on the kid business list. Alternatively, you can go directly by visiting kiddy.cash/kiddy-businesses in your browser.
What you will see on the list
Each business entry on the list shows key details at a glance:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Business name | The name the child gave their business |
| Category | The type of business (e.g. food, crafts, services) |
| Owner | The child’s display name or username |
| Status | Whether the business is active or paused |
| Badges | Any achievement badges the business has earned |
You can scroll through the full list to explore all businesses on the platform.
How to look at one business in detail
Tap any business name on the list to open its overview page. That page shows earnings, recent transactions, and the business description. For a full walkthrough of everything on that page, see How to view a kid business overview.
Why this matters
Seeing all the businesses in one place is more than just browsing — it is a way to understand how other young people are earning and growing their money. Investing and business skills are something kids can start learning early. If you are curious about that idea, this article explains why investing is a concept kids can learn younger than you think. And if a parent or guardian wants to talk through the basics with you, here is how to explain investing to a child without the jargon.
In markets where M-Pesa and mobile money are part of everyday life, starting these habits young — even with small amounts in KES — can make a real difference over time.
Troubleshooting
- Cannot see the Businesses tab? Check that your account type is set to a child or kiddy business account. Parent-only accounts may have a different view.
- The list is empty? No businesses have been created yet, or none are active in your region. You can be the first — see How to create a kid-run business.
- Page not loading? Try refreshing or visiting kiddy.cash/kiddy-businesses directly.
