How to Create a Kid Business Account

A kid business account is a special wallet inside KiddyCash that is linked to a kid-run business — not to you personally. Think of it like a separate till or cash box that belongs to the business. Money your business earns flows in and out of this account, keeping it separate from your personal KiddyCash wallet or allowance.

Before you start, make sure your business is already registered on KiddyCash. If you have not done that yet, follow the steps in How to create a kid-run business first, then come back here.

What you will need

  • An active KiddyCash account (personal)
  • A kid-run business already created on KiddyCash
  • Your business name and any details you registered it with
  • A few minutes — the process is quick

Step-by-step: Creating your kid business account

  1. Log in to your KiddyCash account. Open the KiddyCash app and sign in with your username and PIN or password.

  2. Go to your business dashboard. Tap Kiddy Business in the bottom navigation bar. This takes you to the section where all kid-run businesses on your account live. You can also see businesses other kids have started by visiting How to view all kid-run businesses.

  3. Select the business you want to open an account for. If you run more than one business — say, a Nairobi-based snack delivery and a separate crafts shop — make sure you pick the right one.

  4. Open the account creation page. Inside your business profile, tap Accounts, then tap + Create Business Account. You can also go there directly at https://kiddy.cash/kiddy-business/account/create.

  5. Choose an account type. KiddyCash will ask you what this account is for. The most common choice is Cash Flow — this is the main account where customers pay you and where you pay for supplies. Select Cash Flow and tap Continue.

  6. Set an account nickname. Give this account a name you will recognise, for example Snack Sales – KES Account or Crafts Payments. This is just a label for you — it does not appear to customers.

  7. Review the account details. KiddyCash will show you a summary: the business it belongs to, the account type, and the currency (KES is the default for Kenyan users). Check that everything looks correct.

  8. Confirm and create. Tap Create Account. Your kid business account is now live. You will see it listed under Accounts inside your business dashboard.

  9. Share your account details with customers. Once the account is created, you can share your business transaction code with customers so they can pay you — via M-Pesa, card, or other supported methods depending on your region.

After you create the account

Your new business account works separately from your personal wallet. Money paid to your business goes here, not into your allowance or savings. This makes it easier to track how much your business is earning and spending.
