How to edit a kid business campaign
Once you’ve created a business campaign, you may need to tweak it before it reaches customers — maybe you priced a product too low, used the wrong transaction code, or simply want to tighten the offer. KiddyCash lets you edit a campaign at any time before it goes live or while it’s still in draft state. Here’s how to do it cleanly.
Before you start
Check your campaign’s current status. Editing is fully available on campaigns in Draft or Scheduled status. If a campaign is already Active, some fields (like the transaction code) may be locked to protect ongoing transactions. If you need to change a locked field, pause or duplicate the campaign instead.
Steps to edit your campaign
-
Open your business dashboard. From the KiddyCash app, tap My Business, then select the specific kiddy business you’re running — say, your juice stall in Nairobi or your phone-credit resale hustle.
-
Go to the Campaigns tab. You’ll see a list of all your campaigns with their statuses. Find the one you want to update.
-
Open the edit screen directly. You can jump straight to the edit view using the direct link format:
https://kiddy.cash/kiddy-business/:business_id/campaign/:campaign_id/edit— replace:business_idand:campaign_idwith your actual IDs, which appear in the URL when you view the campaign. -
Update the campaign details. The edit form mirrors the creation form. Common fields to revise:
- Campaign name and description — make sure the offer is clear to your target audience.
- Price or discount amount — if you’re selling in KES, double-check your margins before saving.
- Transaction code — this links customer payments to the right campaign. If you’re unsure which code to use, review what’s new in transaction codes in KiddyCash or read a closer look at transaction codes in KiddyCash for a deeper breakdown of how they work with campaigns.
- Campaign duration — adjust start and end dates if your schedule has changed.
- Target audience settings — if your campaign targets families or school groups inside KiddyCash, confirm those filters still match your intent.
-
Review the badge trigger (if set). Some campaigns are tied to badge rewards — for example, a customer earns a badge after three purchases. If you change the campaign mechanics, verify the badge logic still makes sense.
-
Save your changes. Tap Save Changes at the bottom of the form. KiddyCash will show a confirmation banner. If the campaign is scheduled, the updated version will go out at the original time unless you also changed the schedule.
What you can’t change after activation
Once a campaign goes Active and real transactions are running through it — including M-Pesa payments linked via transaction codes — KiddyCash locks the transaction code and the campaign type to prevent data mismatches. You can still edit the name, description, and end date. To make deeper changes, pause the campaign first, edit, then re-activate.
Confirm your edits worked
After saving, check your business campaign stats to make sure the updated campaign details are reflecting correctly in the performance data. If the old version of the campaign name or offer is still showing, try refreshing the stats page after a few minutes.
