How to Verify an Email OTP
When you sign in to KiddyCash or complete a security check — for example, before changing a sensitive setting or approving a large allowance transfer — the platform may ask you to confirm your identity using a one-time password (OTP) sent to your email address. An OTP is a short, temporary code that expires after a few minutes and can only be used once. This guide walks you through the process from start to finish.
What you will need
- Access to the email address linked to your KiddyCash account
- A working internet connection (mobile data or Wi-Fi)
- Your email app or webmail open and ready — this is especially useful if you are in a busy area like Nairobi CBD and want to complete verification quickly
Step-by-step: verifying your email OTP
-
Go to the KiddyCash login page. Open your browser and visit https://kiddy.cash/login. Enter your registered phone number or email address and your account PIN, then tap Sign in.
-
Look for the OTP prompt. After entering your credentials, KiddyCash will display a screen that says something like “We sent a 6-digit code to your email. Please enter it below.” This means the system has triggered an email OTP check.
-
Open your email inbox. Switch to your email app — Gmail, Yahoo Mail, or whichever service you use. Look for a new message from [email protected] or KiddyCash Security. The subject line will typically read “Your KiddyCash verification code”.
-
Find the 6-digit code. Open the email. The code will be clearly displayed in large text near the top of the message body — for example, 482 917. Do not share this code with anyone, including KiddyCash support staff.
-
Enter the code in the app. Return to the KiddyCash verification screen and type the 6-digit code exactly as shown. Codes are numbers only — no letters or spaces.
-
Tap Verify. If the code is correct and has not expired, you will be taken straight into your dashboard or the action you were trying to complete.
If something goes wrong
- Code not arriving? Wait up to two minutes, then check your spam or junk folder. Email delivery can sometimes be delayed depending on your network — this is common on slower mobile data connections.
- Code expired? OTP codes are valid for 10 minutes only. If yours has expired, tap Resend code on the verification screen to request a new one.
- Wrong email address on file? If you no longer have access to your registered email, you will need to contact KiddyCash support to update your account details before you can complete verification.
- Forgotten your PIN entirely? See how to reset a lost PIN for a full walkthrough, or if you simply want to update your current PIN, check out how to change your account PIN.
A note on subscriptions and security checks
Some KiddyCash subscription actions — such as upgrading a school or business plan — may trigger an extra OTP check as a security measure. If you want to understand what the latest subscription tiers include, the KiddyCash subscriptions overview is a good place to start, and you can also read about what is new in KiddyCash subscriptions to see recent changes that may affect your family or business account.
